This policy explains what information Computer Sales and Service collects through this website, why, and what we do with it. It covers computersalesandservice.com only.
Who we are
Computer Sales and Service provides remote computer repair, IT support, and hardware and software sales to homes and businesses across Florida. Our website address is https://computersalesandservice.com. We operate as a remote service business and do not publish a walk-in address.
You can reach us by phone at 352-290-4357 or by email at [email protected].
Information you give us
The contact form on this site asks for your first name, last name, email address, phone number, and your message. We use that information for one purpose: to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a customer, to provide the service you asked for.
Form submissions are delivered to us by email and are not published on the website or added to a marketing list. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Information collected automatically
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, roughly where in the world you are, the type of device and browser you use, and how you arrived at the site.
We have enhanced measurement enabled, which means Google Analytics also records page scrolling, clicks on links that lead away from the site, site searches, and interactions with the contact form. It records that these events happened; it does not capture what you type into the form.
We use this data in aggregate to see which pages are useful and which are not. We do not use it to identify individual visitors. Google processes this data on our behalf; their practices are described in Google’s own privacy policy.
Our web server also keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics, described above, and from WordPress, which may set a cookie if you leave a comment or log in. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking analytics cookies will not stop the site working.
Advertising
We advertise this business on Google, and may use other advertising services in future. If you reach this site from one of our ads, Google may set a cookie so that we can see which ads lead to phone calls and contact form submissions. This tells us how many people responded to an ad and which ad it was. It does not tell us who you are.
We may also use this to show our ads again to people who have already visited the site. If you would rather not see personalised ads from us or anyone else, you can turn them off for your own browser in Google’s My Ad Center, or by blocking advertising cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop this site working.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run this site and our business:
- Our web host, which stores the website and its server logs
- Google Analytics, for website usage measurement
- Microsoft 365, which handles our business email and therefore receives contact form submissions
Each of these only handles your information in order to provide their service to us. We do not sell personal information.
Information we handle during service work
Remote IT support means that, with your permission, we may connect to your computers, servers, network equipment or accounts in order to do the work you have asked for. Anything we see in the course of that work is confidential.
We connect only with your knowledge, and only as far as the job requires. We do not copy, keep, or read through your files, email or business data beyond what the task needs. Where we hold administrative passwords or backup copies on your behalf, we store them securely and use them only to deliver the services you have engaged us for.
Business clients working under a signed service agreement are also covered by the confidentiality terms of that agreement. Where those terms differ from this page, the agreement governs the work we do for that client.
How long we keep it
Contact form emails are kept in our email system for as long as we may reasonably need them to service your inquiry or to keep a record of work performed. Google Analytics retains event data according to the retention period set on our property. Server logs are rotated regularly.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing Google’s browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Children
This site is intended for adults arranging computer services. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
