Business Software Support in Florida

The system your day is booked around, supported by someone local.

Every business runs on one or two pieces of software that cannot be down. Not the email and not the spreadsheets — the system that takes the orders, books the appointments or prices the job. When that stops, everything else stops with it.

That software usually belongs to a vendor somewhere else, which is exactly how it ends up being nobody’s job locally. The vendor supports their application. Far fewer people are looking after the server it runs on, the workstation it runs from, the database behind it and the network in between.

The software we work in

Point of sale and inventory

The systems that take the money and track the stock, and the hardware bolted to them — scanners, printers, card readers and scales.

Practice and agency management

Dentrix and Eaglesoft in dental offices. Agency management systems and carrier portals in insurance. The applications an entire day is booked around.

Accounting

QuickBooks and Sage: installing them, updating them, getting multi-user working properly, and making sure the company file is one of the things actually being backed up.

What the vendor does not cover

Your software vendor supports their application. The server, the workstation, the database, the printer and the network between them are where most of these calls really live.

Upgrades, migrations and new machines

Moving to a new version or onto new hardware with the history intact, planned for an evening rather than discovered halfway through a Tuesday.

Multi-user access and permissions

Who can open what, from which machine and from which location — including closing that access the day somebody leaves.

What remote covers, and what it does not

Installation, updates, database maintenance, permissions, multi-user setup and most troubleshooting are remote work. So is the slow, unglamorous part of a migration: getting the data across and checking that the history came with it.

The hardware hanging off these systems is the exception. Scanners, receipt and label printers, card readers, signature pads and scales all have to be plugged in, and the fault is often the cable rather than the software. That needs someone there.

Connections run through a managed monitoring and support platform rather than consumer screen-sharing tools, so access is controlled and every session is logged.

“The software is slow” is usually not the software

It is the sentence we hear most, and it is almost never the whole story. The delay can be in the application, the database, the workstation, the server, the network in between, or a report somebody scheduled to run at nine in the morning.

Calling the software vendor gets you told it is your network. Calling the internet provider gets you told it is your software. Narrowing down which layer is actually responsible is most of the fix, and it is the part neither vendor is going to do for you.

Who you are actually calling

Computer Sales and Service supports commercial clients across Florida, and the software side is where most of that work lives. Our dental, lumber and building supply, insurance and housing authority pages go into what each of those industries actually calls us about.

Over eight years doing this work. Response is same business day, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm Eastern.
